With its humble origins firmly cemented in its founder’s backyard and local park, Rumble Pictures has become one of the most unexpected success stories to emerge from South Western Sydney. The story of Rumble Pictures began in 2002 when the then 12th grade student; Timothy Ly decided to commemorate his high school days by directing a martial arts spoof for the end of year assembly. In his astonishment, his presentation was met with applause from staff and students alike.
Inevitably Ly would be inspired by this ability to express himself and his ideas. His love for merging his favourite film genres with directing could no longer be restrained and Ly had embarked on producing his very first film under the Rumble Pictures banner. Gaining the attention of the youth across his community through taking out numerous local short film competitions, Rumble Pictures would later be joined by other highly talented and equally motivated individuals such as Maria Tran to help expand and diversify the appeal of this newly established community organisation.
Using this appeal as a winning formula, Rumble Pictures has gradually evolved into a collaborative hub for highly skilled youths who aspire to all areas of media. The group today accommodates a range of digital and traditional animators, sound engineers, directors, musicians, writers, web designers and actors in order to produce the highest quality films possible.
