Where did you get the term Maximum Choppage from?
Tim: An elder student from my Martial Art group --- International Shaolin Association. Adam ‘Shaolin Monk’ Chua, was one the one who coined up the words. Our Master, who I have you know is in fact Brian Lee’s father, has a reputation of being ill tempered when things go awry at our Lion Dance and Martial Art performances. Adam was one of the regular few who would suffer the brunt of the outbursts. At times it was so severe that some of us feared him immensely. One day after Adam received a severe tongue lashing, he would start predicting that he would get ‘chopped’. Sooner or later he developed it into what he would level as a ‘Maximum Choppage’ the pinnacle of my Masters anger. Humorous as it was, it just stuck with me all this time. So that’s how Maximum Choppage came to be.
By the way our Master is a lot nicer now. Been a while since he had his last chop.
Why is it taking so long make?
Initially there were many distractions personally from me, figuring out what I really wanted to do in future (I’m sure some of you can relate ) and also unwisely thinking that MC2 would eventually be finished in a year in my spare time.
The primary reason why it’s taken so long is that the people involved are actually my personal friends who volunteer there spare time to film. Weekends are actually the best time to shoot the film, but even so it has been extremely difficult to get around that due to their work and study commitments. I started initially with one crew member ( Wayne Pham –dir of Project Vengenace) and myself and it’s literally taken years to form and find a stable group of people to produce the film.
So what we came up with was a crew of young people from diverse background from different fields. Some who our people are not professionals, not underpaid but unpaid, and therefore we’re relying on our passions and ambitions to see it through.
We’re making sure we get the most of the time involved since we want to make sure we deliver in all departments.

So when will be out---like really out?
We’re having a September 2008 release.
Four years is a long time to make a film, especially working with no money. What keeps you guys going?
I guess I speak for the group when I say that it’s due to the grand vision we have. We enjoy using our creativity, the diversity of the film and engaging in something that no one has thought of. There are so many odds against us ( in terms of experience, budget, technical know how, support etc,) and I believe we take that as a challenge to beat them all.

How long is MC2?
Running time is 70 minutes. Feature length :)
Do you need any more crew to help you on the film?
We sure do. We always need a group of hands to help us along the way. We’re looking for people who are passionate and committed. We believe that despite your qualifications in whatever field you’re in ( relevant or not ), that those two particular characteristics are those which can take you a long way.

Are you guys looking for sponsorship?
Definitely we are. With trying to make every ounce of energy/money and time to make this film work however sometimes it stops short at some point. So any donations or support from organizations or businesses of any kind would be appreciated as it would ultimately add to the films production.
