Supporting the creative side of Fairfield City

“This year Council received 16 applications and we have decided to allocate a total of $23,970 to six successful applicants. I commend these groups for their creative projects that will involve our local community and contribute to the quality of life in our City,” says Major of Fairfield City, Nick Lalich.

Rumble Movies Project Group is one of the successful grant recipients. This project will see young local filmmakers produce a high quality comedy martial arts film titled Maximum Choppage 2. The creation of this film aims to combat negative images of youth in Western Sydney, in particular Cabramatta and will involve young people from local high schools, youth theatres and community and social service centres.

Other grant recipients include the Parks Community Network for their Hooked Up project, Triumphant International for the 2007 Triumphant Refugee Workshop project. The New Australians for Butterfly Effect a Vietnamese kite making project, Baghdad Theatre Group for their Home for Sale project and Sliced Bread Attraction for their Museum Of… project.
